The KNAW Humanities Cluster (HuC) is a collaboration between three institutes of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in which humanities research is carried out using digital tools and methods. These are the Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands, the International Institute for Social History, and the Meertens Institute.
As a researcher in the Humanities Cluster you have the opportunity to gain work experience in the fields of history, the history of knowledge, ethnology, literature, language and linguistics.
As a member of the Digital Infrastructure department, you have the opportunity to work on innovative digital tools and research methods.
As an employee of the Business Office you support the management of the Humanities Cluster as a whole, the three associated KNAW institutes, the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS), and the Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies (NIOD).
Within the Humanities Cluster, much attention is paid to the (personal) development of the employees. Working at the HuC means that you will become an employee of the KNAW. The KNAW offers an attractive package of employment conditions.
